Recently, a long-standing member of our team received some life-changing news as his son Kieran was sadly diagnosed with Bone Cancer. Since his diagnosis, Kieran has been undergoing intense chemotherapy and has received tremendous support from Young Lives vs Cancer; a cancer charity that aim to provide specialist support for young people and their families.
Therefore on behalf of Kieran and his family, we wanted to give back to Young Lives vs Cancer to say thank you for their ongoing support and to allow them to continue making a difference in young people's lives.
On Friday 25 November our colleagues, Charlie and Nathan, tackled the North Coast 500 (NC500) in under 24 hours as an endurance challenge throughout the day and into the night to raise as much money as possible for Young Lives vs Cancer.
The boys set off from Inverness, the official starting point of the NC500, around 9:00 heading anticlockwise through the East Coast of Scotland and down through the West Coast. Battling periods of rainfall, wind and loss of daylight, the boys arrived back in Inverness at 2:30 in the morning, completing their challenge in 17 hours.
After a few hours of sleep in the car, the boys made their way back down the A9 to Edinburgh where we had a finishing line event here at Porsche Centre Edinburgh. They were greeted by friends, family, colleagues, customers and Kieran himself along with Scott Gibbins- his representative from Young Lives vs Cancer Scotland.
We are overwhelmed with by support from everyone and we are delighted to share we have raised a massive £6,180 (and counting). This life-changing amount of money could pay for 133 hours of emotional support from a social worker, pay for 17 Crisis Funds helping families to keep warm through the winter months, travel to life-saving treatments and have regular hot meals to eat and much more.
To find out more about this challenge and footage of their journey please follow our social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram and from all of us here at Porsche Centre Edinburgh, thank you for all your generous support.

*Data determined in accordance with the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) as required by law. You can find more information on WLTP at www.porsche.com/wltp . For Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) range and Equivalent All Electric Range (EAER) figures are determined with the battery fully charged, using a combination of both battery power and fuel.
Values are provided for comparison only. To the extent that fuel and energy consumption or CO₂ values are given as ranges, these do not relate to a single, individual car and do not constitute part of the offer. Optional features and accessories can change relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics which may result in a change in fuel or energy consumption and CO₂ values. Vehicle loading, topography, weather and traffic conditions, as well as individual driving styles, can all affect the actual fuel consumption, energy consumption, electrical range, and CO₂ emissions of a car.
